Apple - Event in just 36hrs!
There is one workaround to this that I am aware of. It is not ideal, but it works.Go to Free Ringtones - Download, Share and Make Ringtones : Ventones.com and register. Yes, I know registrations are annoying, but this is pretty simple. Once you're logged in, go to Create Free Ringtone. Upload your song.Once your song is uploaded, choose the section of the song that you want to use as your ringtone. Drag the highlighted area on the song's wave scan and press "play song" to test the chunk of the song until you find one you want. Then click "Create tone".You are then given 3 methods of getting the ringtone onto your phone. I have not tested the send to phone / URL methods because I do not have an internet plan on my phone. Instead, I opted for "Save Free Ringtone" and saved it to my computer.Next, go to MikSoft Mobile AMR Converter - Freeware - EN - Download.CHIP.eu to download Miksoft Mobile AMR Converter. Download and install it.Run it, and select WAVE/MP3 to AMR. Select the ringtone that you created earlier on Ventones. For best results, choose 12.2 from the "Select MR" drop-down menu. Click Convert Now.Now, load up New PC Studio and connect your phone to your computer. Make sure that your phon'es PC connectivity settings are set to load New PC Studio instead of mass storage or media player. Open up your phone explorer. In New PC Studio, find your MP3 in My Computer, and drag/drop it into your Voice Clips folder on your phone. On your phone, go to the Voice Clips folder and the file will be there. You can select it as your ringtone. The quality is not very good because AMR files themselves do not support higher quality than what Miksoft offers, but the method works and does not cost you a cent.
