Make them more functional.Amazon is running a one-day deal on a variety of TopGreener USB outlets, sensors, and timers. We've featured a number of highly-rated options from TopGreener in the past, and these are no exception. If you're looking for the most affordable way to add USB ports to your wall outlets, this version gives you two USB and two AC outlets, and includes the wall plate, all for just $12.79. This model offers the same configuration, but has a 3.1A output instead of 2.4A that the previous one did. It's available for the same price, but you need to add your own wall plate which ends up making it slightly more expensive. The sale also includes a 2-pack of the 2.4A outlets with a pair of USB cables for $28.48, a programmable timer switch for $13.11, and a countdown timer switch for $14.99.Don't forget, these prices are only good for today, April 3, so don't miss out.See at Amazon...

This one's for the nostalgia junkies amongst you all. The pkgj utility, a homebrew that allows users to download and install PKG files to their PSVita consoles, has been updated with support for PS1 games for the first time. The utility, developed by homebrew developer Blastrock, is a fork of an existing utility - pkji. What the fork originally enabled was the installation of downloadable content (DLC) PKG files - and now, PS1 game support gives yet another reason to snag this utility. Differences aside from the aforementioned one include the ability to queue multiple downloads, support for the TSV file format and the ability to install game updates; a valuable addition to facilitating gamer convenience.Other merits of the homebrew include the local standalone nature of it; you don't need a PC to get going. Coupled with automatic download and unpack functionality and automatic resumptions of interrupted downloads while in use make the utility very appealing for your average multit...

Moment has announced its intentions to venture into the world of smartphone filmmaking with their launch of a series of new products. The company, best known for their acclaimed smartphone photography lenses, made the announcement of the launch of these new products on Tuesday via Kickstarter. The lineup most notably includes a $149 anamorphic smartphone lens, which will allow users to capture video footage from their smartphones in the iconic 2.40:1 aspect ratio. This lens also produces the iconic horizontal lens flare look of blockbuster movie fame. Moment accomplishes this using a 1.33x lens, which Moment describes as being "like shooting a wider focal length in the horizontal direction and a longer focal length in the vertical", allowing for the shallow depth of field of a telephoto lens, but with a wide-angle image. The product lineup also includes a filter mount that allows for any standard 62mm filter to be used with Moment lenses, alongside an iPhone X battery case and ...

Xiaomi has been taking aim at the gaming sector in recent times; they recently announced their first gaming laptop, the stylish Mi Notebook 2 (which our friends at Windows Central wrote about here) and seem to be pushing for a spot in the niche gaming market as hard as they can; and new information is pointing towards a further challenge to the dominance of Taiwanese giant Razer in the gaming market. Xiaomi is allegedly preparing their own competitor to the successful Razer Phone, under their gaming subbrand Black Shark. Rumours around the gaming phone challenger have been floating around the Weimo rumor sphere for quite some time now, with the consensus being little more than the facts that it's coming, and it's gonna be pretty damn powerful. That was the case until a few days ago when Black Shark Mobile posted this teaser image to their official Weibo page. While the image doesn't give a lot away, it gives some pretty big hints as to the SoC that will be driving this device; it...

Good luck aiming with that tiny screen though Ever wanted to play the original fan-favourite Counter-Strike, straight out of 1999, on your PS Vita? Well, now there's nothing but your own lack of willpower stopping you. Developer and hacker fgsfdsfgs has updated their PS Vita port of the Half-Life engine, known as vitaXash, to version 4, adding support for the original Counter-Strike as well as UI and stability improvements. This port is based upon the well-known Xash3D-FWGS, which is also available on various platforms such as Windows, Android and iOS – meaning you can play cross-platform Counter-Strike games with Xash3D users on Android and iOS for instance. (This port does not currently support local hosting, however, so if you wanted to host a CS game from your PS Vita you're out of luck.) Additionally, the port requires the use of VitaGL, an OpenGL port for the PS Vita that's essential to making any Half-Life game run at a playable speed on the Vita. So how's the expe...

Most users that use a Mac for pro applications usually turn to the Mac Pro as their computer of choice because of its computing prowess. The Mac Pro is a high-end Mac with a high-end price, but it is not the most powerful Mac available on the market. In fact, the most powerful Mac isn't even sold by Apple, it is actually sold by Big Little Frank, a company based in Denmark, which makes custom Macs. There is a small community of creative professionals who are taking their 2009-2012 Mac Pros and modifying them to be even more powerful than the computers Apple sells today. The older Mac Pros can use top-of-the-line graphics cards, which are not compatible with the newer Macs, allowing them to crush the benchmarks, even when compared to newer computers. The Mac Pro 4,1 and 5,1 are the models which are being used because they are the last of the tower Mac Pros which could be modified, before the "trash can" design Mac Pro came out. There is a Facebook Group, Mac Pro Upgrade, where you w...

Google has announced the launch of its Wear OS developer preview programme, targeting its wearable devices (primarily smartwatches) running Wear OS, the spiritual successor to Android Wear. The preview, which is meant to bring some of the headline features of Android P to the wearable platform, includes additions such as a dark system theme, a background activity, limiter, radio deactivation when the watch detects it's not being worn, and much more. The release of this new developer preview was unveiled via a post on the Android Developer's Blog. Google has highlighted the usefulness of the new included features, such as the much-appreciated addition of a dark theme, which Google say will help improve glanceability. Additionally, apps will no longer be permitted to run in the background unless the watch is being charged., for the purpose of power conservation (this doesn't apply to in-use apps or to your complex wacky watch face of choice).Additionally, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellu...

Like the sound of the trigger stops on controllers like the Xbox Elite and Razer Wolverine? For 20 bucks you can have them on your existing controller.I play a lot of shooters (badly) and one thing I absolutely cannot do without anymore are trigger stops on my controller. When active, they shorten the travel of the triggers making aiming and shooting that little bit quicker. Your responses are sharper and you're firing faster than before.Of course, they're not so awesome in a racing game like Forza 7, because without the full press of the trigger your car won't accelerate properly. That's the way racing games are designed, so you need to be able to take the trigger stops off again when necessary.Until now I thought you had to fork out for a pro-grade controller to get this feature. Then I found this amazing kit from Bionik that not only adds trigger stops to a regular controller but does it cheaply as well.See at AmazonHow to add trigger stops to a regular Xbox One contro...

OnePlus is making moves in the smartphone industry again. They have already discontinued sales of the OnePlus 5T in North America, indicating that new product should be coming out soon. Evan Blass, a well-known phone leaker, tweeted to his followers an image of the new OnePlus 6 after teasing followers with a poll regarding the release of the image. You've been **cough cough** good sports with this, so I suppose you do deserve /something/. Just remember: #yousawitherefirst pic.twitter.com/AWCHYZKJJE— Evan Blass (@evleaks) March 27, 2018As you can see in the image above, OnePlus has kept the headphone jack instead of getting rid of it like many of the manufacturers out there. The back seems to have a textured feel to it almost like the original OnePlus' sandstone back, this is great news for those worried about grip. It would be great to see multiple backs available for this phone, similar to what they've previously done with StyleSwap, although the back doesn't look removabl...

Google has expanded its anti-piracy efforts to remove autocomplete for search terms related to the media playback software Kodi. Now, users who search "Kod" will no longer have it autocomplete to Kodi, but will instead see a variety of terms like "Kodak" and other legal, less contentious things.Kodi is not a piracy app per se, but its use, much like BitTorrent, is one which is used for piracy overwhelmingly. The app has already faced censure in many European counties, with the UK setting out guidelines for what it considers illegal use of the Kodi set-top box software itself. Google is serious about taking down products which encourage, or appear to encourage piracy, and Kodi appears to be a victim of its own success.A Google spokesperson told TorrentFreak that:"Since 2011, we have been filtering certain terms closely associated with copyright infringement from Google Autocomplete. This action is consistent with that long-standing strategy."Google's autocomplete policy has in...

Google's Chrome OS is getting a design refresh in future updates, pushing it closer to Google's new design language which made its debut in Android P. On developer builds of Chrome OS, the firm has made several tweaks to prominent aspects of the interface, including the system tray, wallpaper picker, and keyboard shortcuts overlay.Earlier this year, the firm added a dark theme to its system tray. This week, it followed up with an Android P inspired design refresh to the same. Now, in a new update for users on developer builds, the firm had now made the system tray translucent (pictured above), allowing elements of the background to bleed through. The tray has also become collapsible, again reminiscent of Android P's notification centre as well as the Windows 10 Action Center. This overall design approach is similar to the current design zeitgeist shown in competitor operating systems like Windows and macOS, both of which now sport transparency in their latest incarnations.Goog...

Is getting into a network that houses drug lords and paedophiles legal?A web of secrets and lies is likely the world you're signing up for when you take the relatively simple steps to entering the murky encrypted underbelly of the internet. While most users are blissfully unaware of the existence of the dark web, use of the Tor anonymity network that allows access to the dark web has grown dramatically over the last few years. What was first born as a safe haven for activists to share content without the fear of prying eyes has transformed into a cyber-underworld that houses drug markets, child sexual abuse networks, illegal pornography and professional hit men – alongside vast communities of libertarian warriors who seek internet freedom and anonymity at any cost. But is using the dark web legal? First, let's define the dark web. The internet can be divided into 3 sections:The surface web, where you find all the websites you're familiar with like Googl...
