The Libratone TRACK+ in-ear headphones adapt to the surrounding noise to provide enhanced noise cancellation.Libratone has announced a very sleek new product, the Libratone TRACK+ Wireless In-ear headphones. They have a very clean modern look while packing some incredible technology into a very thin form factor. Noise cancellation is not a common thing to see in small earphones, but they've still managed to integrate their very powerful 'citymix' adaptive noise cancellation technology into them.Adaptive noise cancellation essentially allows the user to control how sensitive they are to canceling out the noise around you, and it will adapt nicely to make a seamless experience. This technology is created by Libratone, and it's called "Citymix". There are four different settings for noise cancellation, and it will work well in every environment. A quiet or "hush" mode was also integrated to easily let sound through when you need to hear you're surroundings. The in-ear headphones als...

Android TV has seen a lot of success in living rooms around the world, with Sony being one of the main contributors. Here is their latest and greatest.Sony announced new TVs during this CES 2018, which doesn't sound that interesting per se, however, it does once you hear that it includes a very interesting feature: Google Assistant. Aside from being 4K, HDR10-capable and running Android TV, they also feature the famous (or infamous depending on who you ask) Google Assistant on board. This is different from a lot of Android TV devices as Google Assistant isn't available platform-wide, just like it isn't with regular Android OS on handsets. The first TV is specifically an A8F series TV, with a 65" or 55" display, depending on what you chose, powered by the BRAVIA OLED technology. The display also features something called "Acoustic Surface tech" which means that "the entire screen resonates with sound", whatever that means. The more juicy parts include a Sony X1 Extreme proces...

The "Kinda Blue" Google Pixel 2 is now available on Google's Project Fi network. The black-front-"kinda"-blue-back Google Pixel 2 has now joined the Project Fi family. It's available through Google's Project Fi website and can be used with the service officially. This is great news as the colour variant has been exclusive to Verizon up until now. It's now available in a GSM variant which may be welcome news to users outside of the US (which is the vast majority of us) who want the device with their own operator in their own country.Bring a little color to your life. The Kinda Blue Pixel 2 has officially joined the Project Fi family. 💙 https://t.co/VUDlNm7tSx pic.twitter.com/9uFhfHIk1w— Project Fi (@projectfi) January 9, 2018While Google has been faced with criticism regarding operator exclusives, it seems like the company is finally learning from its mistakes. The Kinda Blue Pixel 2 was highly requested by Project Fi users, and it was outright strange to not see Goog...

So, Google Assistant was never on Android Auto and I feel betrayedDuring CES, Google made an announcement regarding Google Assistant and its future in the world. Google outlined many new ways Google Assistant would be able to help you throughout the day in various areas. One area that stood out was in the car, in its announcement, Google stated that Google Assistant would be making it's way to your car to help you with your voice commands while driving. This is a little confusing, I thought that Google Assistant was always available in Android Auto. This is wrong, it seems that Android Auto was using a simpler voice search method with the implementation it had built in. Every time you would say "OK Google" to your car it would trigger an implementation based on Voice Search instead of Google Assistant. Now that Google Assistant is coming to Android Auto there will be a wider range of functions which users will be able to access through voice commands. Here is a video showing Goog...

Faster is good, but sometimes you lose great features because of the need to be faster You may have never heard of AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages), but it is something you have probably already encountered during your web browsing without realizing it. It is also possible that you may have been bothered by one of its minor annoyances. The AMP project was put together by Google in 2016, the idea behind it was to make browsing the internet even faster. The way it works is through the use of educated guessing. Basically, it attempts to predict what page you are likely to visit next and pre-loads them in the background so when you click on the page it is already loaded making it feel instantaneous. An example would be if the first couple links to a Google search preloaded so when you clicked on them you didn't have to wait. This is not a new method and is actually used often in the architecture of operating systems, your computer is constantly making guesses on what you are going to do ...

Images released for Nexus / Pixel devices, along with OTA files. We're early in 2018 and already seeing monthly patches for Google's Pixel and Nexus Android devices. Security vulnerabilities have been addressed, with the latest security bulletin having information on all of those issues in very specific detail (including the level of severity, in case you're interested). The OTA files can be used to manually update your device while maintaining all of your current files. If you go with system images instead of OTA, just note that it will wipe all data from the device. The main requirement to flash a system image is that you must have an unlocked bootloader. The Android Security Bulletin for January 2018 mentions the most severe issue that is fixed with these patches: The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in Media framework that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileg...

Not all states are pleased with the FCC's decision to vote against net neutrality. The majority of Americans are displeased with the FCC's decision to repeal Net Neutrality, previously put in place during the Obama Era. The University of Maryland ran a poll and found that over 83% of Americans opposed repealing net neutrality, breaking them down into three groups:75% of Republicans89% of Democrats86% of IndependentsIt's not often that you end up with such similar numbers across partisan divides. If 83% of the U.S. population is opposed to repealing Net Neutrality, it's somewhat of a surprise that the FCC repealed it.As we are now seeing, some states are taking this into their own hands. We have already seen California, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington who are all seriously considering putting Net Neutrality rules into place, with the newest addition to the lineup, and also the first Republican state to do so being Nebraska.Nebraska drafted and pushed forward a bill t...

Your cryptowallet might have been cracked wide open.A huge security flaw in the Electrum wallet has allowed a way for hackers to easily access your bitcoins for nearly two years, and send them to a different wallet. A user noticed the flaw and reported the issue on the official Electrum Github repository in late November of last year. Fortunately, the bug was successfully patched this month, on January 7th. The bug allows a person with malicious intent to access your Electrum wallet if the wallet isn't encrypted.A tweet from Tavis Ormandy, a Google security researcher, may have contributed to its urgent patching: The bitcoin wallet Electrum allows any website to steal your bitcoins. I was gonna report it...but there was already an open issue from last year. I pointed out this is kinda critical, and they made a new release within a few hours. Update to 3.0.4 if you use it.As the tweet says, if you use Electrum for your Bitcoin wallet, update to 3.0.4 as soon as possible to ...

A group of Internet companies are coming together to sue the FCC for the recent repeal of net neutrality rules. The Internet Association is composed of Facebook, Google, Lyft, Netflix, and others. They've released a statement detailing plans to join the pending lawsuits levied against the Federal Communications Commission. Those cases should drop once the FCC's repeal reaches the Federal Register in the next few months.Internet Association CEO Michael Beckerman stated,"The final version of Chairman Pai's rule, as expected, dismantles popular net neutrality protections for consumers. This rule defies the will of a bipartisan majority of Americans and fails to preserve a free and open internet. IA intends to act as an intervenor in judicial action against this order and, along with our member companies, will continue our push to restore strong, enforceable net neutrality protections through a legislative solution."Preserving net neutrality by means of a legislative solution coul...

A fake porn video of "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot was created using widely available open source machine learning tools. If you can't tell, we're living in the Matrix. Artificial intelligence is starting to blur the lines of reality. For example, how do you know a physical person wrote this article and not a digital program? These are just words on a screen. Did they come from a human mind, or an artificial one? Whatever you think doesn't matter, because words on a screen are simple to manipulate, but now video is too.Pornography is not a new phenomenon in this country. It's arguably a staple of American culture since sex permeates just about every entertainment medium out there. Sex sells. Soft porn is what you can see on regular cable, and the hardcore stuff is accessible if that's your thing. What you may not be aware of, is how artificial intelligence can make pornography weird as a fuck. There's a video of a woman that looks like Gal Gadot having sex with her stepbrother on...

Meltdown and Spectre were a scary revelation to the computing world, but even the solution for these exploits are causing problems for someA couple of weeks ago the CPU market was turned upside down as security researchers at Google Project Zero, the Technical University of Graz and Cerberus Security revealed to the world their findings of Spectre and Meltdown, vulnerabilities which are in almost all the processors around the world. The exploits were created by using the architecture used by most modern CPUs against them. Most modern operating systems use a kernel in order to mediate between the operating system and the rest of the computer. Most chips use clever engineering in order to speed up communication between the kernel and the OS. A more in-depth description of the exploits can be found here.Google Project Zero stated there was no proof that anyone had ever used the exploits, but there really is no way to be sure. Panic was at an all-time high when Apple, Microsoft, and...

Samsung has been working on a foldable Galaxy smartphone, and some analysts believe it will launch by the end of this year.{.intro}The Electronic Times reports that Samsung would be making the device from development to production, with a plan to unveil the phone possibly at the end of the year or early next year. The device reportedly will be shipped with a 7.3-inch flexible OLED screen, which will let it be folded and transition between a phone and tablet form-factor.This isn't the first time Samsung has been rumoured to be working on a phone with a foldable screen, and we doubt that the company isn't working on this and other oddities, with the breadth of its operations. The firm's President of Mobile Business, Dongjin Koh, confirmed as such in 2017, telling reporters after the launch of the Galaxy Note 8 that it planned on introducing a foldable Galaxy in 2018 barring unexpected issues.Samsung isn't the only smartphone manufacturers to work on foldable devices. The ZTE Ax...

Google has been improving the utility of the Pixel 2's At A Glance widget rapidly. The firm debuted the widget as an easy glanceable area on the screne for busy users who wanted to be able to quickly and eaisly see their data without having to plug into the main Google ap feed itself. The widget ordinarily would show data like traffic updates, weather, and upcoming calendar events. The firm has now updated the Pixel's At A Glance widget to show information from upcoming flights. Much like with the main Google feed, the data it pulls out is tied to data fed into your Google account. If you get your tickets for your upcoming trip to Disneyland, Paris in Gmail, Google will parse the data so that they can provide you with flight information either in the main assistant feed or in the Google at a glance widget.Google Now feed and (later) Assistant has long since been giving users data they need to get around their day. You can configure what the widget prioritizes by a preferences ...

The start of something greatWhile carefully researching and selecting the components for your next PC in accordance with your budget can be an enlighting experience, there is something exhilarating about taking components someone threw away, putting them together and trying to breathe some new life into the result.I recently started a series of videos where I experiment on building PC based on components fans had salvaged from scrapyards or that friends were throwing away for space.A couple of weeks ago I was searching through an app commonly used to sell used nicknacks in hopes of finding a PSU (Power Supply Unit) that I needed when I saw someone selling what seemed like an almost entire PC for €25. According to the seller, he was trying to get rid of a bunch of components for space so it was either a cheap price or throwing the whole thing in the trash. What I got from that purchase was a P8H61-MX motherboard with an Intel Pentium G860, a rather beefy aftermarket CP...
