Hi, I'm new and trying to unlock my old 6680 which I plan to use with a bluetooth GPS receiver as a Satnav. I'd done some research and hoped to use dejan kaljevic's BB5 unlocker software with a DKU-5 cable. Unfortunately I've had a harder time than I'd imagined downloading a clean copy as most of the original links from posts in 2007 are dead and many other sources have virus infection. Also I've found it difficult to get the right drivers for the cable, there seems to be mixed advice over the genuine Nokia DKU-5 drivers or the Prolific 2303 driver (both of which I believe I've sourced although the Prolific seems to auto-recognise in Win7 now). The cable I bought is a generic one labelled DKU-5 but only has 6 pins while some sites mention a 13-pin version. I'm reasonable with hardware but was hoping to be able to unlock this phone and my sister's without having to get the soldering iron out. I downloaded a couple of BB5 unlocker programs from this site but realised after patching the FTD2XX.dll to get them working that they require one or more boxes. Could anyone help clear up whether I have the right cable, drivers and software or point me in the right direction please? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to forums so my apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, I read the rules first though. P.S. Sorry for bold type it got stuck on after pasting Dejan's name. Thanks in advance.
