I need a full guide on what is the Main tool.
 
 
 
Main service program allows you to find the appropriate pinout for Chinese phones as well as for any other phones. You have an option of automatic or manual pinout selection.
 
PadFinder modes:
 
- Unibox Mode ( set by default; allows to flash/unlock the phone after the pinout is found using any appropriate software, for instance, Multi-box Chinese Cocktail for ALL MTK-based cell phones )
 
- Command Mode ( used for pinout search )
 

 
There is the "MODE LED" on the box near the "SPECIAL" socket, that indicates in what Mode the device is.
 
If the box is in Command Mode, the LED will be Yellow*.
If the box is in Unibox Mode, the LED will be Red*.
* in some PadFinder devices the LED colors may differ.
 
You also have an opportunity to switch the box from one Mode to another only by pressing and holding "MODE SELECT" button near the "SPECIAL" socket of
PadFinder.
 
By default, PadFinder is set in Command Mode.
By pressing and holding "MODE SELECT" button for 3 seconds - the box shifts to Command Mode.
By pressing and holding "MODE SELECT" button for 5-6 seconds - the box shifts to Unibox Mode.
 
The box memorizes the last found pinout even if you have closed the program or shifted to another mode. It is especially convenient for those, who work with big consignments of handsets, because saves your precious time and helps to make your job faster and with the excellent quality!
 
Pinouts search algorythm:
 
I phase - ATMEGA finds Ground ( GND ) and Supply ( VPP ) and automatically disables them from the search
II phase - ATMEGA measures the voltage and using exhaustive search defines Rx and Tx signals
For 2-processors phones:
III phase - you need to disable manually the already found pinout for the first CPU, than the program will automatically find the pinout for the second CPU
 
IMPORTANT: If you search the pinouts for Philips OM6357 ( bootstrap ) and Philips ( tat mode ) based phones, you need to know that these processors are critical to VPP, therefore experimentaly choose Low ( 10k ), or High ( 1k ) signals; for all others CPU choose OFF, or Low ( 10k )
 

 
Supported processor types:
 
- MTK 62xx ( all MTK, including 6228, 6229 and others )
- AD 6522 / AD 6525
- TI sample A ( VK3xx and others )
- TI sample B ( boot in ROM )
- TI sample B ( boot in Flash Rom )
- SkyWorks CX805
- Philips OM6357 ( bootstrap )
- Philips ( tat mode )
 
ATTENTION: Other processor types, which are absent in the list at the moment, will be added with further updates! But knowing the pinout, you can allways make the cable setting manually for any CPU type, even if it's not in the list ( read the document concerning manual pinout selection ).
 

 
The provided diversity of cables schematics allow you to choose the appropriate cable type to suit the given handset. You can press the "Deatiled" button to see the detailed image of the cable schematic:
 

 
It is possible to set Tx/Rx signals manually in just two clicks using the mouse! This is especially usefull if you know the correct pinout in a phone with a new currently not supported processor or you are dealing with 2-processors Chinese phones ( find more... )
 
You can manually set the Rx/Tx pins directly on the cable schematic or on the table:
 

 

 
For your best convenience there is an option to save the found pinout, so you don't need to search for it many times! You can also create the profile for new model, name it and set the correct pinouts! With PadFinder you have an opportunity to create and modify your own Pinout Database that will perfectly suit your needs, save the precious time and avoid automatic pinout detection for many well-known models! In addition, the Database is easy updatable!
 

 
HOW TO DEFINE POSSIBLE Tx/Rx pins, GND and Supply?
 
1. Push On the "Power (VCC)" button ( this button controls the Power supply to the phone ) and power on the phone
 
2. Measure voltage on all pins:
- put a tick on "Highlight Pins";
- press "Voltage scan" button
 

 
* Possible Tx/Rx signals will be marked with RED and GREEN colors correspondingly ( in most cases, possible Rx/Tx signals have 2,8-2,9 Volt )
* To define Power supply, put a tick on "Pull down" and press "Voltage Scan" button.
 

 
* To define possible GND pins, put a tick on "Pull up" and press "Voltage Scan" button.
 

 
You can also put a tick near "Automatic Update" in the "Settings" bookmark to be sure that your box is allways on the edge!
