Jailbreak and Unlock iOS 5.0 using these custom ipsw files: (semi tether jailbreak)

ACTIVATED =for official carrier users (who has SIM card from an official carrier) and UN-ACTIVATED who doesn’t have any SIM card from official carrier but different SIM card from a different network which don’t have any contract with apple before downloading read the instruction carefully on how to upgrade and use custom ipsw and then unlock your idevice.
Before starting the jailbreak please make sure that you have read this. The benefit of custom ipsw is that when upgrading it doesn’t change the baseband which means that u can still unlock your idevice once you upgrade to iOS 5 using custom ipsw! If u have in anyway didn’t use custom ipsw and upgraded to iOS 5 then the baseband gets upgraded and you will lose your unlock forever!! So remember always use custom ipsw to upgrade to future iOS if you want or if u rely on unlock! So here are the steps you need to jailbreak and unlock your idevice (if u get errors make sure that you delete sauriks server from hosts file) read the instructions carefully and how to use semi-tether below this table!

1- If you get error 3194 then Delete sauriks server from hosts file in order to get rid of errors during upgrade. Open the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows) or /etc/hosts (Mac OS X) and delete the following entry : 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
2- IF YOU GET ERROR 16xx :1- use pwangetool, redsn0w, iReb , snowbreeze to enter DFU mode
2- delete sauriks server from hosts file and then also after that CLEAR the DNS cache
3- Download the correct firmware iOS for your device and unzip and in the folder you for each device you see the readme file and iBooty and some other files see step 2 for picture and explanation

5- After downloading and reading above step and understanding it then open iTunes (use newest iTunes 10.5 version)
6- Connect idevice to iTunes and BACKUP!! Make sure that you backup!! Because when upgrading using custom ipsw you will lose all data so backup and then go to next step.

8- Now press SHIFT keyboard key + RESTORE button iTunes
9- Browse to the custom iOS 5 ipsw file you have downloaded and start restore process
10- When restore is done then and phone rebooted make sure you use iBooty to reboot the idevice in order to open cydia
11- Open cydia update cydia if needed and for if u need unlock just download ULTRASN0W from cydia
12- Open Cydia and add this repository:http://thebigboss.org/semitether
13- Search for SemiTether, install it then reboot your device

What’s Semi-Tethered jailbreak
iOS 5 semi-tethered jailbreak is a kind of jailbreak which allows you to reboot your device without needing to a compute for “Just Tethered Boot” option in redsn0w. Yes, it’s similar to an untethered jailbreak but actually 99% of your jailbreak related apps and tweaks won’t work at all. The semi-tethered jailbreak is made as a protection for you if your device reboots while you’re on the road. It allows you to make the most of important functions.
1) Can use phone, sms (text messages)
2) Can use every other stock app on iPhone.
3) Can use mobile safari
4) can use other appstore web browsers such as atomic web browser
5) cannot use mail app. You could install a Gmail or Hotmail app from appstore or such instead.
6) You cannot use any jailbreak tweak, app, cydia until you boot tethered.

STEP 1: You must have iOS 5 installed, and tethered jailbreak).

i have an iphone 3 i can receive calls but when i try make a call it says phone disabled how can i mfix this safely

if it factory unlocked piece means just connect with itunes it will fix automatically if its jailbreak and unlocked piece means u sholud have to jailbreak again
